Liz Atkins, owner, manager and trainer of Benchmark Stables, started riding at the age of 10. As a junior rider, she rode with many of the top trainers and won multiple championships with her prized horses.

Liz attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and was a member of the IU Equestrian Team. When she was Club President (2005-2006), the team attended the National IHSA Finals in Harrisburg –    first time in club history. Liz graduated from IU in 2007 with a Management degree.

After graduation, Liz rode competitively as an amateur and moved up to competing at the Grand Prix level.  She turned professional in 2014. USHJA named Liz as a top young professional Grand Prix rider in 2014.

Liz’s training program is designed around developing and challenging both horse and rider to achieve success; all levels.  She especially likes to bring along young, green horses to the upper levels of show jumping.

Liz is looking forward to continued growth and success in training both horses and riders.
